Bison™ ABS Plastic
Lightweight Strength Delivered.
Bison™ delivers robust performance at up to 80% less weight then cast iron boxes. Uniquely engineered thick-walled ABS plastic combines strength, adaptability, and American craftsmanship for lasting reliability in the field. Bison™ is fully interchangeable with cast iron and plastic components. Available for 2½” and 5¼” boxes.

Cast iron roadway service boxes for valves up to 3″ or for use with curb stops up to 2″ with square operating nut. Bison™ two-piece valve boxes feature thick-walled ABS plastic that makes them up to 80% lighter than full cast iron boxes. Cast iron rims and lids deliver H-20 load rating performance, while the white interior improves visibility when accessing the valve.
5¼” Bison Two-Piece Valve Boxes
Includes a Bison top section with a permanently bonded cast iron rim, a cast iron lid, and a Bison bottom section. Designed to enclose only the stuffing box for valves up to 10″.
- Adjustment: Screw-type or slide-type
- Rim: P500 no flange rim standard.

- 106 Bell – Encloses the stuffing boxes on valves up to 10″
- 107 Bell – standard option on 3-piece Bison™ assemblies. Covers the valve completely on valves up to 16″
- Stabilizers recommended for all bells to maintain proper alignment.

Bison™ CIP valve boxes combine a cast iron top section and lid with Bison™ thick-walled ABS plastic sections delivering durability with lightweight convenience.

Our 5¼” valve boxes come with our standard round lid with a 1½” skirt, but we offer a wide range of additional lid options that fit seamlessly with cast iron, Bison™, and Bison CIP valve boxes.

Our cast iron drop-in lids are the industry standard for strength, durability, and smooth operation. Each lid seats securely to prevent rattle, shifting, and minimize pop-outs.
- Drop-in lid with 1½” skirt: Round comes standard (13 lbs.) with square (14 lbs.)
- Round lightweight drop-in lid with 1½” skirt: (9.4 lbs.) optional
- Round drop-in lid with 2½” skirt (14.5 lbs.)
- Round drop-in lid with 1.35″ skirt and core pick-hole (12.5 lbs.)

5¼” Cast Iron Heavy-Duty Lids
Prevent dangerous and costly lid pop-outs. These cast iron, heavy-weight lids work seamlessly with our 5¼” valve boxes. They feature a tapered, secure fit—resisting vibration and uplift, enhancing road safety.
- 4″ skirt: Extra long design and 25 lb. weight help this lid resist vibration and uplift
- Tri-Skirt: Unique triple contact and tapered 4″ skirt and 22 lb. weight deliver maximum retention
- Strength: H-20 load-rated and ideal for traffic areas in excess of 45 mph.
- Lettering: Choose WATER, SEWER, FIRE, IRRIGATION, or custom
5¼" Locking Lids
Engineered for a secure, tamper-resistant fit that minimizes lid ejections, we offer two locking lids: the Universal Locking Lid features locking legs that brace firmly against the valve box interior to prevent movement and ejection. The Locking Lid for screw-type boxes features a locking bar that secures the lid to the underside of the rim.
- Both are compatible with any 5¼” valve box
- Tamper-resistant design reduces risk of lid displacement

Vital to maintaining valve alignment and reliable operation. Stabilizers center the operating nut in the box, preventing shifting, misalignment, or damage during installation and backfilling. They ensure smoother operation, reduce wear on components, and extend service life.

Securing your valves is critical to system reliability. Available for most box styles and sizes, locking lids secure in place for added stability and protection. Tamper resistant. Minimized lid ejections.
