Bison™ ABS Plastic
Lightweight Strength Delivered.
Bison™ delivers robust performance at up to 80% less weight of cast iron. Uniquely engineered thick-walled ABS plastic combines strength, adaptability, and American craftsmanship for lasting reliability in the field. Bison™ is fully interchangeable with cast iron and plastic components. Available for 2½” and 5¼” boxes.

A patented Bingham & Taylor solution trusted for over a century, these cast iron repair lids solve common field problems like lost lids, broken lugs, or damaged curb box tops. The jaws of the lid expand to bear securely against the inside wall of the box, restoring full function without requiring replacement of the entire assembly.
- Material: Durable, American-made cast iron for lasting quality
- Options: New Style Flush, New Style, Old Style (for use with centering ring), and Old Style

3" Curb Boxes: Cast Iron

- 4″ skirt: Extra long design and 25 lb. weight help this lid resist vibration and uplift – available in round or square
- Tri-Skirt: Unique triple contact and tapered 4″ skirt and 22 lb. weight deliver maximum retention
- Strength: H-20 load-rated and ideal for traffic areas in excess of 45 mph.

5¼" Locking Lids
Engineered for a secure, tamper-resistant fit that minimizes lid ejections, we offer two locking lids: the Universal Locking Lid features locking legs that brace firmly against the valve box interior to prevent movement and ejection. The Locking Lid for screw-type boxes features a locking bar that secures the lid to the underside of the rim.

5¼" Bison™ & CIP Valve Boxes
Bison™ products combine thick-walled ABS plastic with cast iron strength where it matters most. CIP solutions combine a cast iron top and lid with Bison™ bottom bells delivering durability with lightweight convenience.
5¼” Bison™: 2-Piece Assemblies
Bison™ 2-piece assemblies include thick-walled ABS plastic tops and bottoms with cast iron rims and lids—delivering strength at less than 80% the weight of all cast iron. Designed to enclose only the stuffing box for valves up to 10″.
- Adjustment: Screw-type or slide-type
- Rim: The cast iron rim is permanently bonded to the top section. P500 no flange standard. P500T with 6.34″ rim optional.

5¼” Bison™ Valve Boxes offer your choice of cast iron rim styles. The rim is permanently bonded to the top section for strength and performance.
- P500 Rim: Cast iron with no flange.
- P500T: Cast iron extended rim (6.34″ high). No flange.
- All are compatible with the round lids with 1½” skirt, 2½” skirt, or universal locking lid.
- The P500T accommodates the 4″ skirt and tri-skirt lids.

- 107 Bell – standard option on 3-piece Bison™ assemblies. Covers the valve completely on valves up to 16″

5¼” CIP (Cast Iron + Bison™) Valve Boxes
CIP boxes combine an H-20 proof-load-rated cast iron top section and lid with the lightweight durability of Bison™.
- Standard Configurations: The 2-piece assembly has a Bison™ 101 bottom section. The 3-piece assembly has a middle section and a 107 bottom bell.
- Adjustment: Screw-type or slide type (which has an optional bottom flange)
