Available in both injection-molded and rotationally molded designs, our meter pits offer two tailored material solutions—100% virgin high-impact polypropylene copolymer (injection-molded) and polyethylene copolymer (rotational-molded)—to meet diverse project needs. 

Both materials bring unique advantages, providing versatile options that are lighter and more worker-friendly than traditional cast iron, while offering comparable strength when correctly installed.

 

Injection-Molded Meter Pits

Made from 100% virgin polypropylene copolymer, which is rigid and highly impact-resistant which is ideal for applications where strength and structural integrity are critical, especially under regular handling.

• Lightweight yet strong, designed to withstand up to 20,000 lbs of crush force.
• Ribbed interiors provide enhanced stiffness and durability.

Rotational-Molded Meter Pits

Our rotational-molded meter pits are made from polyethylene copolymer which offers more flexibility, making it well-suited to extreme environmental conditions, particularly those involving significant temperature fluctuations. Polyethylene’s superior UV stability enhances its resilience in outdoor settings, making it an excellent choice for demanding environments.

• Crafted from high-quality polyethylene copolymer with a 0.5″ nominal wall thickness.
• Engineered for superior durability, H20 load ratings, and optimal performance in temperatures from -40°F to 140°F.
• Ideal for pedestrian and light-duty traffic applications.

 

Meter Pit Frames and Extensions

Maverick Meter Lids

Our exclusive Maverick Meter Lids are constructed from fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene, offering exceptional rigidity and impact resistance. Engineered for long-lasting performance, they are resistant to UV radiation, moisture, and temperature extremes, with underside ribbing providing superior strength for demanding environments.

Designed with AMI/AMR compatibility in mind, these lids feature non-degrading materials to maintain the radio signal from transmitters. Options include solid lids with brackets or thru-hole designs for seamless integration with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) systems. Smart Inserts are available for Badger Orion, Mueller, Neptune, and Sensus systems, with custom solutions tailored to meet your needs.

For added branding and security, Maverick Meter Lids can be customized with your name or logo, deterring theft while reinforcing your identity in the field.

Cast Iron Meter Lids

Our cast iron meter lids combine durability with ease of handling, making them a trusted choice for utility applications. Designed for long-term performance, these lids are crafted to withstand heavy use. These lids come with pentabolts to secure them in place and lifting worm gears. Drop-in lids are available. Oblong recessed hole allows for a variety of meter transmitters. Choose lettering for utility designation or add custom lettering or logos.

 

Cast Iron Meter Boxes: Time-tested Strength & Security

Our meter boxes are constructed with durable cast iron, featuring a secure lid with a deeper cover seat to ensure a snug and reliable fit. Engineered for demanding applications, these boxes are tested to exceed a proof load rating of 53,000 lbs, delivering exceptional strength and performance in the field.

The lids are designed with pick holes for easy installation and removal, and options include solid or recessed thru-hole designs compatible with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) systems. Standard lids feature “WATER METER” lettering, with customizable options available for branding and theft deterrence. Additionally, the design meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, ensuring accessibility and compliance.
